Hello, I am Sophie
I work as a project manager. I’m a parent. An expat, I live in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Netherlands wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a work opportunity and quickly grew into something much larger.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Over time, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Pen Qabegu Iweqa Kek Hot
Most online information fell into either corporate relocation tips or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Netherlands.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical knowledge gained from living in Netherlands
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a genuine change
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Netherlands continues, along with the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Amsterdam or anywhere in Netherlands, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Sophie
